Heather Kipping, LCSW, HS-BCP - Psychotherapist at Sarasota Center of Revitalizing Psychiatry

Heather Kipping, LCSW, HS-BCP - Psychotherapist at Sarasota Center of Revitalizing Psychiatry, is a licensed clinical social worker licensed in New York and Florida. She holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Syracuse University with a concentration in mental health. She is a Human Services Board Certified Practitioner with over 15 years of experience and works with individuals, couples, families, and teens. Heather is a Cognitive Behavior and Solution Focused therapist and has expertise in treating depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship issues, abuse, divorce family systems, and life transitions. As a clinician, Ms. Kipping seeks to help client’s set goals that lead to positive change and increased personal happiness and life satisfaction. Heather’s clinical approach is holistic in nature and examines the interconnectedness of the psychological, physical, and spiritual aspects of each client.
Heather has been a member of the National Association of Social Workers since 1997. Her graduate internship at Syracuse University provided in-depth work at St. Joseph's Hospital Children's Day Treatment Center with a rotation at the Hospital's Crisis Psychiatric Emergency Center.
During her undergraduate Internship at The Hospice of Central New York, she was part of a
multidisciplinary team, providing direct social work practice to terminally ill clients and their families.
Heather has served as the Administrative Liaison for Elmcrest Children’s Center, Family Support Center in Syracuse, NY. This program works with children first entering the foster care system and is a collaborative effort with the County’s Department of Social Services Children’s Division, and Elmcrest Children’s Center.
Ms. Kipping has served on the Board of Directors for Prevent Child Abuse New York and the Board of Directors for McMahon Ryan Child Advocacy Center. She has co-chaired PCANY annual state conferences and has presented at numerous national, regional, and state conferences on various social work topics.
Before relocating to Florida, Heather has been a tenured faculty member and Associate Professor at Cazenovia College since 2000, educating and training human services professionals. During her tenure at the College she was the faculty advisor for The Overseas Travel Club, leading students on international tours to Germany, Czechoslovakia, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Ireland, France, Switzerland, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand. Most recently while on sabbatical in 2010, Ms. Kipping traveled to New Mexico conducted research on the Effects of Gaming on Puebloan People. In the fall of 2010, she presented her research at the Mid-Atlantic Consortium for Human Service’s Regional Conference in Portland, Maine.
